Session 9 Reflection - Writing
I love this lesson very much!!!!! Even though I love every lesson of this course but this one is probably my favorite one out of the 9 sessions. I love the two websites that Paul introduced tonight (storybird and mystorybook). I always wish my writing lesson is more fun and creative so students would involve themselves in their writing but not only copying like a robot. In this school year, I have a very smart student in my P1 class. He is a quick learner and I wish that I could do more for him to learn better. Creating an online story book is definitely something I want to try out with him. Since he loves reading, I think he is able to create his own story maybe during the recess time and lunch break. I am so excited to start a story book with him. It would be way fun :)
Back to the story book that I created tonight, I created a story about animals in storybird.com I love the pictures there and students could choose some pictures with a few sentences. It is easy and fun :) I also created a picture book about my first trip to Hilo, Hawaii in mystorybook.com. It was one of my favorite trips so I made a book for this wonderful memory!

Session 8 Reflection - Reading
I have tried to use HotPotatoes JCloze and JCross tonight. Since I haven't download the program in my laptop, I forgot how to export the html link and upload it on dropbox. It was kind of frustrating but I did enjoy learning new tools to enrich my teaching. Actually, HotPotatoes is pretty easy to use. Students can get the link and access the exercises. Another thing that I like is Actively Learn. I haven't heard of it before and it was my first time to make a reading comprehension. It was great! I can insert as many notes as I want and also as many questions as I want. Students can follow the passage easily and answer the questions while reading it. I like how easy it is to teach a reading lesson. Paul also introduces Nearpod at the beginning of the lesson and I am also interested in it. I always feel like teaching reading is kind of a boring lesson but I believe it will change with different technology support and creativity :)
